Blindsided...

One day everything is fine. The next day you’re wondering how you’ll make your next mortgage payment and how you’ll ever find a job to replace the one you just lost. Being without a job has a profound impact on a person. In many cases their ability to communicate with friends, family, God, and even themselves is severely impaired. The actions of true and faithful friends can help ease a burden that otherwise may seem to be too heavy to bear.

How can 59:59 help?

59:59 support groups address the emotional needs of those who are unemployed by linking them together with others who are employed and who have personal experience with career transition. A small group of six to eight, half employed and half unemployed, agree to meet once a week for 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Every participant commits to continue meeting until all participants of the group are gainfully employed. Weekly responsibility for group facilitation rotates among the members. For many, their group becomes the lifeline that helps them through the crisis.
